Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 27, 2026
AutoPodly (“AutoPodly,” “we,” “us”) is a service that turns a YouTube channel or playlist into a podcast by automatically converting new videos into audio episodes and publishing them to a podcast RSS feed that platforms like Spotify can read. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using AutoPodly you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google or with an email and password, we collect your name, email address, profile image (if provided), and a Google account identifier.
- YouTube data (via Google APIs). With your permission, we access your YouTube channels, playlists, and public video metadata (titles, descriptions, IDs, thumbnails, view/like counts, publish dates) so you can choose which channel or playlist to turn into a podcast and so we can detect new uploads.
- Audio content. We download and store the audio of the videos you choose to publish, in order to host and serve your podcast feed.
- Usage & analytics. We record podcast feed and episode access events (such as plays and the platform requesting them) to show you listening statistics.
- Payment information. If you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.
2. How we use your information
We use the information solely to provide and operate AutoPodly:
- Confirm you own the YouTube channel or playlist you connect.
- Show you your own channels and playlists so you can select which to publish.
- Monitor your selected source for new uploads, extract their audio, and generate and host your podcast RSS feed.
- Provide listening analytics and account/billing functionality.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your Google/YouTube data for advertising.
3. Google & YouTube API Services
AutoPodly uses YouTube API Services and other Google APIs. By using AutoPodly you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. You can review Google’s privacy practices in the Google Privacy Policy.
AutoPodly’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, we only use the Google/YouTube data you authorize to provide and improve the user-facing features described above, we do not transfer or sell it to third parties except as needed to provide the service, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not allow humans to read it except with your consent, for security, to comply with law, or where the data has been aggregated and anonymized.
You can revoke AutoPodly’s access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
4. How we store and protect your data
Your data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure. Sensitive credentials and access tokens are encrypted at rest. We restrict access to your data to what is necessary to operate the service and take reasonable measures to protect it from unauthorized access.
5. Service providers we share with
We share data only with infrastructure providers that help us run AutoPodly, under their own privacy and security commitments. The current subprocessors are:
- Render (hosting) — runs the AutoPodly web service and stores your audio + artwork files on the persistent disk.
- Neon (Postgres database) — stores your account, channel, episode, and subscription records.
- Stripe (payments) — processes subscriptions and stores your card; we never see your full card number.
- Resend (email) — delivers email verification codes and account notifications.
- Webshare (residential proxy) — used only to reach YouTube to fetch your videos.
- Google / YouTube APIs — to access the channels and videos you connect.
- Cloudflare (DNS / edge) — routes traffic to autopodly.com.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete a connected channel at any time from your dashboard, which removes its episodes and stored audio. You can also delete your entire account at any time from Settings → Danger zone — this cancels your Stripe subscription, wipes all channels and episodes and uploaded artwork, and removes your user record from our database. To request a copy of your data instead of deletion, email us at the address below.
7. Children
AutoPodly is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above when we do.
